A self-balancing serving tray you carry with one hand. You hold it from the handle above, and the tray swings beneath so your drinks stay level instead of sloshing. It leaves your other hand free for a bannister, a door or a walking stick.

A pivot between the handle and the tray lets the tray swing freely, so it settles level like a pendulum instead of passing every wobble of your hand to your drinks. It's very intuitive, so no practice is needed.

A 12 inch (305 mm) stainless steel tray with a stainless steel folding handle, plus two removable neoprene grip mats:

• a sage green botanical mat with a spiral in the centre to help you find and place your drinks
• “Sapphire”, a navy mat with white geometric lines

The mats give a grippy, non-slip surface and soak up spills. They lift off easily if you prefer the bare metal tray.

Yes. The handle folds down flat on top of the tray for storage, and locks upright by sliding the tube down into place.

Yes, the tray is dishwasher safe.

We've refined our supplier process to keep quality consistent, using the same stainless steel tray, metal handle and frame, and neoprene mat that customers already love. We've also made a slight redesign to save weight, which helps keep costs down.

We're bringing it back with fresh stock and improved production because we want more people to enjoy the independence it gives them around the home.

The Tipsi Tray was our original single-handed tray, and it's currently out of stock. The Topple Tray is the new and improved version, refined using feedback from Tipsi Tray customers.

Yes, the price will rise. The first 200 Topple Trays are offered at an early bird price of £39.95. After that the price rises to £45 for the next 200, and the Topple Tray will be £50 from launch in March 2027.

Yes. Every pre-order comes with both of our new neoprene mat designs as standard: the sage green botanical mat and the navy “Sapphire” mat.

Yes. Pre-orders are refundable, and every order is covered by our 30-day returns policy and 2-year limited warranty.

The Topple Tray isn't a new, unproven idea. It's an established, well-reviewed product that we're bringing back with better production. We're fully committed to shipping every order, and pre-orders simply help us move faster. Your order is protected by our 30-day returns and 2-year warranty regardless.

Yes. We ship to the UK, Europe, the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and most other countries. If your country isn't available at checkout, email us and we'll help.

Rates shown are for the Topple Tray and most of our range. The Grip Toggle and Sticky Toggle ship free in the UK. A few other smaller items have their own rates, and the exact cost is always shown at checkout. See our shipping page for more.

Once your order ships, delivery usually takes 7 to 10 days.

Customers are responsible for all customs duties, import taxes and handling fees. If you're outside the UK, including in the EU, your country's customs may charge these when your parcel arrives. They are set by your local authorities, so we can't estimate them in advance.

We can't change the declared value or description on customs forms, as this is against the law and can cause delays or returned parcels. See our shipping page for more.

If customs charges aren't paid and your parcel is returned to us, you have two options:

• Have it sent again: you'll need to pay the original delivery cost again for us to resend your parcel.
• Get a refund: we'll refund your order minus the original delivery cost and a £5 admin fee.

Prices are converted automatically into your local currency, so the numbers can look a little odd. That's all it is.

Single Handed is a small UK company founded by Robert Simpson. We design simple, well-made products that make everyday tasks easier, especially for anyone who needs a hand free, whether that's for a bannister, a door or a walking stick.

It started with Robert's grandfather, Andrew Townson, who built his own one-handed tray in Yorkshire in the early 1980s so he could carry drinks upstairs with a hand free. Robert developed the idea into the Tipsi Tray, launched in 2020 and pitched on Dragons' Den in 2021. The Topple Tray is the next version. Read our story.
