The Topple Tray now comes with two brand new neoprene mats, each with its own design. One is a soft sage green covered in cream botanical swirls. The other, Sapphire, is a deep blue with a crisp white geometric pattern.
Both mats sit snugly inside the tray and do the same important job: they keep your cups, glasses and plates steady while you carry them with one hand. But we have also designed them to look good on the table, in the kitchen or at the bedside, so your tray feels like part of your home rather than a piece of equipment.
The sage botanical mat: a spiral that shows you the centre
Look closely at the sage mat and you will spot one large spiral sitting right in the middle. It is not just decoration. That spiral is a visual target that shows you exactly where the centre of the tray is.
Why does that matter? A single-handed tray is at its most stable when the weight is balanced around the middle. Put a drink right on the spiral and the tray hangs level, with far less chance of wobbling or tipping as you walk. If you are carrying one mug, the spiral tells you where it belongs. If you are carrying two, place them either side of it and the load stays even.
It is especially helpful if you are setting a drink down quickly, have reduced vision, or simply want one less thing to think about. Around the spiral, the leafy pattern gives the mat a calm, natural feel that suits a morning cup of tea as much as coffee and cake.
Sapphire: bold, modern and easy on the eye
Sapphire is for anyone who likes a cleaner, more contemporary look. Fine white lines on rich navy form a star-shaped pattern that radiates out from the middle of the mat, so it naturally draws your eye to the centre too.
The strong contrast between the dark blue and a white mug or glass makes it easy to see what is on your tray at a glance. It looks just as good carrying espressos round a café as it does taking a cuppa up to bed.
Why neoprene?
Neoprene is the same soft, grippy material used in wetsuits and mouse mats, and it is ideal for a serving tray. It holds cups in place so they are less likely to slide as you move, it softens the clink of china on steel, and it wipes clean in seconds after a spill.
Paired with the Topple Tray's balanced single handle, the new mats make it even easier to carry up to four glasses or mugs with one hand, leaving the other free for a banister, a walking aid or a door.
