Accessibility
Single Handed makes products that help people stay independent, so I want this website to be easy for everyone to use, including people who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, voice control or screen magnification.
The standard I am working towards
I am working towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the recognised standard for accessible websites.
What I have done so far
- Product and blog images have written descriptions for screen readers, and purely decorative images are skipped.
- Sign-up forms have clear labels for every field.
- Buttons are large enough to tap easily, and text is set at a readable size.
- Each page has a clear heading structure so it can be navigated with assistive technology.
Known limitations
Parts of this website are built with page-building tools, and some sections, such as image carousels and expandable FAQ panels, may not yet work perfectly with every screen reader or keyboard. I am reviewing these and fixing problems as I find them.
Need help or found a problem?
If anything on this website is difficult to use, please email info@singlehandedproducts.com and tell me which page you were on and what happened. I will reply within a few working days.
If you would rather not order online, email me and I will help you place your order by email instead.
